The Russian Rockot booster was used Monday to launch a series of 9 small satellites from around the world, according to reports from SpaceToday.net
The former ballistic missile (known in the west as the SS-19) is being used by EUROCKET, a pan-European launch group, to perform multiple payload launches.
Among the devices launched were:
- MIMOSA (Czech Republic) - atmospheric density analysis
- MOST (Canada) - Astronomy
- XI (Japan) - University of Tokyo
- CUTE-1 (Japan) - Communications and sensing experiments
- Can X-1 (Canada) - University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies
- AAU CUBESAT (Denmark) - student experiments (Aalborg University)
- DTUSat (Denmark) - student experiments (Danmarks Tekniske Universitet)
- Quakesat (US) - QuakeFinder, LLC (private earthquake prediction)
- A satellite simulator (Russia) - for payload tests
