A recent review of Apple's new G5 by PC Magazinegives the G5 4 out of 5 stars (although I can't find an explanation of why it wasn't 5).

They liked the overall look, feel, and sound of the machine and after performing "real world" tests, claim that it is in the same league as, or better than, the 3.06GHz dual Xeon that they tested it against, just like Apple had indicated in their releases.
