An article from CNet describes a new class-action lawsuit filed against Network Solutions over their system that redirects mistyped URLs to servers at Network Solutions.
The lawsuit, believed to be the first to ask for class action status, was filed in California by Ira Rothken, who has a history of internet-related lawsuits.
Over the past two weeks since the launch of the SiteFinder service, requests and lawsuits have flooded Network Solutions as the internet rejects the breech of trust caused by the company's efforts to make money by subverting the technical underpinnings of the 'net.
Although it doesn't jeopardize the functioning of the Internet as regards basic navigation, it does undermine certain anti-spam systems and services that depend upon knowing the origin of data.
