Although the press announcements were about the upgrade, I'd never heard of the program Maxi Bidder from Colourfull Creations before yesterday. The software is a $9.95 program for doing eBay sniping from a Macintosh.

Sniping is the practice of lurking until a few seconds before the bidding is complete on an item and then coming in at the last second and putting in a higher bid and thus taking the item for a reduced price.

I will admit that I've done nothing more than visit the web site, but the software looks interesting for those of us who have occasion to do a little acquisition via eBay and I will be giving it a try.

The company also has also released a program called Auction Tender, that is designed to help people who sell things on eBay.
