Well, it's 4:40am, so I'm not sure what the damages are outside, but we've been without line power for about 6 hours and the batteries claim that I have about 6 hours to go -- hopefully they are right this time.

So far, the reports on the power situation are not good. The Dominion (the new name for Virgina Power and its cohorts) web pages are providing a lot of valuable information, but much of it just indicates there is likely to be power restored to a lot of places before it comes here. At last count over 1.7M of Dominion's 2.3M customers were without power. Ouch!
