Hackers take over computers for porn distribution

A new hack has been discovered that takes over the user's computer in the background and uses it to serve pornographic advertising and web pages, according to an article in the International Herald Tribune.

The sites are apparently chosen due to vulnerability and access to high-speed links. It is also suspected that not only are the hackers making money by bringing people to the porn sites, but that they may also be collecting credit card numbers themselves for other uses.

Not enough is known about the program yet, but it is suspected that it may be linked to a virus known as sobig , however there is no direct evidence for this claim.

It is also believed that once infected computers may also be used to send spam.
