Striking another blow for censorship, the German government has closed down a web site, Ogrish.com, because it contained gruesome pictures, according to Cnet.com in an article posted this morning.
Although it certainly appears that the site was tasteless and quite possibly illegal under German laws, it is an interesting step for the German government to take because the site is hosted on a US hosting service and its only apparent tie to Germany was the use of a registrar based in that country, Joker.
If you have any off-shore domain names, I'd suggest seriously reconsidering it.
