Continuing the chronicle of Martian landers and surveyors, the European Space Agency has sent Mars Express into orbit around the red planet. The first pictures are in from the stereoscopic camera, and they are pretty amazing.
The mapping camera, which can be used to determine 3D data, has a resolution of about 12 meters and will be used to create a comprehensive surface map of the planet at this resolution.
If you missed it, take a look at the info from January 16th, when the Mars Rover Sprit looked up and the Mars Express looked down.
