I decided to split out each of the sessions into a separate article, so you didn't have to dig through one looking for information on the other. Here's the first one about the MMOG Trends session.
The MMOG trends discussion was good, but a bit repetitive from similar discussions on the previous day and at GDC in March. The interesting change was the addition of a Korean and a French game developer to the panel. Not surprisingly, Garriott and Raph Koster dominated the panel with their ideas and their generally gregarious approach to these panels, so much of the content was a rehash. Not that I'm complaining, I scheduled to go to that particular session because I wanted to hear those two talk, I just didn't expect them to agree quite so much.
