On the heels of a not-so-well-received quarterly report, [IDC has released its 3Q05 report (and 3Q05 report synopsis) that indicates that Apple's market share in the PC space has risen to 4.3% in the US, putting them firmly in 5th in US shipments, slightly behind Lenovo.

The numbers also show a 48% increase in overall shipments in comparison to the same quarter last year for Apple, with strong sales in Europe leading the way, and US and Japanese shipments not far behind. Total shipments for the US were up around 11%.
