Apple released new versions of iCal and iSync yesterday that add a number of useful new features. The updates are both available from the Software Update panel in Jaguar (Mac OS X 10.2), although iCal must be updated first and then iSync since there is a dependence on the latest iCal.
Among the useful features are:
- iSync now synchronizes with the Sony Ericsson P800 (my phone of choice) and other Symbian phones
- Intelligent handling of time zones (now you can set up an event in any time zone and it will do the "right thing" on devices that understand zones)
- New drawer editing metaphor as opposed to the previous mechanism that involved a separate editing window
- Better support for duplicated and recurring events
