AOL to bring blogging to the masses

AOL is going to be launching a new service to customers called AOL Journals that will provide features that allow users to easily create a web log, otherwise known as a blog. According to an article in the Washington Post, the company will not release the service until later this year.

In a new twist, AOL will not only offer simplified form-based content management to enter articles, but will also allow blogging direct from AIM (their instant messaging client) and also via the telephone (although I'm not quite sure how that works).

Uh-oh, I may be in for some competition.
